Stall holder for Cheap Affair at Sounds From The Other City festival

Gareth Cairns says, “My work is a celebration of the icons of popular culture, and the way in which they are irreversibly woven into our everyday lives, memories and shared experience of life. I like to create colourful and lively images in order to celebrate and pay homage to these icons.

On the day I'll be selling original paintings (acrylic) in a variety of sizes and price ranges. I'll also be raffling off one piece of artwork, which will go to one lucky winner. I'll be selling small photographs/ prints/ postcards of my work too.”

Emma Kelly and Hannah Fray are both Studio Managers at The Bluecoat Printmakers in Liverpool and Hot Bed Press Printmakers Salford. Collaborating on several projects and offering skill-swapping sessions to printmakers of all levels in the North West region.

Emma has spent the past year backpacking around the world. Experiencing an unparalleled sense of freedom, meeting people from all over, seeing wonders of the world and experiencing first hand the varied cultures of the world. She will be presenting the journey through her prints and love of artist books.

Hannah combines printmaking and the craft of cutting and manipulating prints, using prints as a base to layer, stitch and cut up allows them to adopt a 2d and 3d quality. Hannah's work intersects the categorisation of art and craft.

Nayna Lad has always been interested in the human form, which is clearly depicted in many of her paintings. The work attempts to create movement and emotions through an expressive and abstract technique. Her work has gone through circles of change that has occurred to assist me to develop a particular style that she feels confident and comfortable working with.

Kirsty Latham is a portrait artist and a knitter. On her stall there will be hand-made knitwear, posters and mounted prints of her paintings, as well as hand-made greeting cards. There will also be a portfolio containing photographs of her canvas paintings so that customers have the opportunity to see and purchase a painting or commission a piece of original work. Kirsty has had both solo and group exhibitions in and around Manchester and will be taking part in a group exhibition in London, in 2010.
Alongside Kirstys beautiful portraits and lovely knits, Catherine Harte will be doing Henna hand tattoo's.

Moon Monsters (Felicity Langthorne) come in all shapes and sizes! Each monster is unique and is named according to their style and personality. As an artist I make costumes and these little creatures appeared as a side product to help me realise the shape and form of my garments. However they are works of art in their own right and make delightful gifts.

Mr.PS products are designed and screen-printed by hand by Megan Price in sunny Salford.
Megan was led by her passion for print to set up Mr.PS  to create an enticing range of contemporary interior accessories based on adventures at home and abroad. This includes the signature range of tea towels, as well as mugs, shopper tote bags and screen-print artwork on paper. Products feature bold graphics, drawn line and lettery messages. Printed and finished by hand, they come with a touch of personal charm. Colourful prints are inspired by vintage signage and the great British seaside, as well as a love of tea and cake.


ONE MANS TRASH (Nel Boxall) sells lovely lovely vintage, recycled and handmade clothing and textiles and all for amazing prices!

Catherine Quinn sells up-cycled and recycled clothing and accessories and will be sharing a stall with Amy Coveney who will be selling her prints and illustrations.

Kyle Saxton says "Photography is my main area of interest, long exposure in particular,i like to capture sides of Manchester in a different way. Working with light graffiti to produce prints that challenge the norms of conventional graffiti and photography, also i work with animation and film."

Tatty Magpies (Alicia Coppola and Navenka Love) sell mainly second hand and vintage pieces. You can also find wonderful jewelery and shoes.

The Knife Fork and Spoon (Sarah Frost) bakes a wide array of cakes and cupcakes all individually decorated and with traditional and experimental flavourings. The cakes are like small pieces of art in themselves decorated with anything from your typical sprinkles to toy soldiers. As well as cupcakes there will be other cakes and baked goods for sale. There will be vintage bake ware, kitchen ware and aprons hand made from vintage material.

Charlotte Toplis will be selling her accessories, which are a mix of handknits and vintage.
